'Pathaan' keeps raking it in, gets nearer to Rs 600 cr gross worldwide

Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone-starrer 'Pathaan' is on a record-breaking run at the domestic and overseas box office as it collected Rs 591 crore gross worldwide in just six days.

The film, directed by Siddharth Anand, released on January 25.

'Pathaan', on its sixth day, registered Rs 26.50 crore nett in India (Hindi - Rs 25.50, all dubbed versions - Rs 1.00 crore), taking the India gross to 32 crore.

The overseas gross on day six is at Rs 16 crore. In just six days, 'Pathaan' has recorded $27.56 million (Rs 224.6 crore) in overseas territories alone, while nett collection in India stand at 307.25 (Hindi - Rs 296.50 crore, dubbed - Rs 10.75 crore)

'Pathaan', thus, created more records today as it became the fastest Hindi film to breach Rs 300 crore NBOC barrier, set on Day 6 and also became the 1st Hindi Film to breach Rs 300 crore nett barrier since the pandemic! With this insane result, all films of YRF's Spy Universe - 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Tiger Zinda Hai', 'War' and 'Pathaan'.

Tiger Zinda Hai’s box office collection to hit 200 crore mark

Despite the controversies and cold shoulders, Ali Abbas Zafar managed to get the ex-lovers to reunite on screen for Tiger Zinda Hai. SalmanKhan`s Tiger Zinda Hai is busy racking moolah at the box office with each passing day scoring a total of 190.62 crores as on Wednesday.

After crossing the Rs 150-crore mark within four days of its release this Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer collected another 17.5 Crores (approx) on Tuesday, making its way to the 200-crore club beating its contemporary Fukrey Returns that scored 72.25 crores in two weeks.

This spy-thriller is a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster, Ek Tha Tiger. It revolves around Salman(a RAW agent), and Katrina`s (an ISI agent), deadly mission to rescue 25 nurses, held hostage by ISIS, a terrorist organization. The movie was released on 22 December 2017 and was screened across 4600 theatres in the country, under Yash Raj Films banner.

With gripping action sequences and `swag` songs,  Tiger Zinda Hai is expected to make 350 crore in domestic coin, and another 150 overseas which would be enough to make Tiger Zinda Hai the third biggest grosser of his career, behind Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan.

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s War breaks 8 box office records on first day itself, actors say ‘truly grateful’ | bollywood

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s new action thriller War has broken multiple box-office records on day one, collecting Rs 53.35 crore, and the two stars have expressed joy and thanked fans.

The first-day collection of War, when it opened on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, makes it the biggest all-time holiday opener for a Hindi film, surpassing the day one collection of the Diwali 2018 release, Thugs Of Hindostan. The Amitabh Bachchan-Aamir Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer had earned Rs 52.25 crore on release last year.

“It is an incredible response to our hard work and I’m truly grateful to the audience for loving our film. Meanwhile, Salman was recently heavily criticized after his movie Race 3 turned out to be a flop at the box-office. Further, the movie directed by Remo D’Souza was such a big failure that fans had even started to trend #WEDONTWANTDABANGG3 on Twitter. With the hashtag everyone warned Khan to stop taking his fans for granted and even requested him to not sign movies like Race 3.

The movie had started with a song recording, but unfortunately, nothing happened after that. Further, the movie featured, Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Divya Bharti, and Karishma Kapoor. Interestingly, the movie was used for another Salman Khan movie named ‘Majhdhar’ in 1996.

3.  Buland

Salman had gone through a phase when his movies were not performing as per the expectations and even the film ‘Buland’ couldn’t release after half of the movie was complete. According to reports, the movie featured Somy Ali, whom Salman was dating at that time.

4. Raju Raja Ram

Everyone knows the friendship between Salman, Govinda, and David Dhawan. Well, there was a time when David Dhawan had decided to collaborate with Salman, Govinda, and Jackie Shroff. However, David could never start the project due to financial crunch.

5. Dus

You might have danced to this popular song Hindustani from the movie Dus in 1999. Further, the movie with a powerful cast of Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Shilpa Shetty, and Salman would have been the biggest blockbusters. Unfortunately, the film could never release after director Mukul S. Anand’s sudden death.

Meanwhile, the good news over here is that Salman is now considering to re-think his strategies of signing films and is coming up with top-class movies such as Bharat,  Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior, and Kick 2.

Now, we are waiting to see if Salman Khan upcoming movies can do the same magic as his previous movies. Further, whatever the reason is, we must not forget that he is the Sultan of Bollywood.

Race-3: Will Salman Khan's Movie Make 150 Crore In A Week?

New Delhi: Salman Khan's Race 3 continues to perform well at the box office. It is expected to cross the 150 crore-mark by the end of first week. On wednesday, the film earned Rs. 9.25 crore, making the grand total to Rs. 142.01 as per the reports of business analyst and Censor Board advisory member Atul Mohan. The film earned rs 100 crore within 3 days. Atul Mohan tweeted, "Race mints Rs. 9.25 crore on Day 6, which was a working Wednesday. In just 6 days, the film has collected a total of Rs. 142.01 crore, looking to cross 150 within a week."

Race 3 have continued to do well at the box office. But a drop in collection was seen on Tuesday (Rs. 12.05 crore), but Wednesday witnessed a "normal weekday drop," Box Office India reported.

The film made 77 crore over the weekend. This is Salman's fourth entry to make it to 100 crore club within three days. Other films to feature on the list include, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.

Race 3 ranks second on the list also made to the top five opening weekend list of 2018 while Deepika Padukone's "Padmaavat"is the chart topper.

Saibal Chatterjee, in his film review for NDTV said, "Directed by Remo D'Souza, Race 3 is a dance of dunces that hits a convoluted track from the moment it kicks off. The game has too many players and not enough rules to keep them sane. It is about the family of an unscrupulous global arms dealer, Shamsher Singh (Anil Kapoor). They embark on a mission to rob a hard disk from the high-security vault of a Cambodian bank with the intention of blackmailing Indian politicians caught in a prostitution ring."

Race 3 Box Office Collections Daily Update: Good Hold On Wednesday

Race 3 Box Office Collection: This year EID release Race opened with a bang as per expectation. Race 3 opens with 75% occupancy in morning shows across India. The movie picked up with every passing show on Friday. In the evening every single screen and 70% shows of Multiplexes were housefull. As it was a Pre-EID release, so the movie was a dip down in Muslim dominated areas. Race 3 Collected 29 crores on its first Friday. It is the highest opening of 2018 after Baaghi 2 and Padmaavat. Race 3 took a huge jump on Saturday as it was a national holiday. Muslim population came out to watch the movie. The movie took a jump of 25% and collected 36 crores on its first Saturday. The movie had potential to reach 40 crores as the movie had the negative review, it started affecting the business. After a national holiday on Saturday, movie collected in the same range as Saturday. The movie is going really strong both in multiplexes and single screens. Sunday's figures are little better than Saturday. Race 3 collected 37 crores on Sunday which helped the movie to cross 100 crores marks at the domestic market. Race 3 stands at a huge total of 102 crores nett after three days. It is 4th Salman Khan film to cross 100 crores marks in three days after Bajarangi Bhaijaan, Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. The movie dropped 45% on Monday compare to Friday which is reasonably good. It is an overall drop but there is more than 65% drop in the multiplex. Single screen theatre in UP, Bihar, Gujrat and Mumbai are performing better than Friday. Still, EID factor is working but the way collections came down in metro cities like NCR, Mumbai and Kolkata, it seems movie will face more drop in the weekdays. Race 3 collected 15.5 crores nett on its first Monday. Race faced its first heavy drop of Tuesday. The movie dropped heavily and collected 8.5 crores on Tuesday. It is 40% drop as compare to monday. EID period is over and now the movie will face the heavy drop as it was expected. The  public reports of the movie are extremly negative. Even Salman Khan fans seemed disappointed from the movie. Tuesday collection are in the same range of Tuesday. The movie hardly shows any drop. Race 3 collected 8 crores on its first wednesday. ★ Dabangg 3: Will there be 'Salmania' at the box office?!

The ongoing unrest in the country due to protests against the Citizenship Act could impact the box office collections of Dabangg 3. Dec 20, 2019  Film trade experts believe that Salman Khan has the power to pull big crowds to the theatres for his films on the opening day.While it stands true for his previous releases like Bharat and Tiger Zinda Hai, that opened at Rs 41 crore and Rs 31 crore respectively, things could be different for his new venture Dabangg 3.

According to film trade and business analyst, Girish Johar, the film could open anywhere between Rs 25 crore and Rs 30 crore. This would be marginally lower than what his last December release – Tiger Zinda Hai – had earned on day one.

In addition, the ongoing unrest in the country due to protests against the Citizenship Act could impact the box office collections of the film. “Dabangg 3 has seen a good start barring a few cities, where the protests are taking place. I expect a 5-10 percent dent at the box office in those particular pockets,” Johar said.The advance bookings for the film have also taken a hit because of the protests.

Besides, the advanced plans for Dabangg 3 opened fully only on December 18, which has resulted in lower pre-booking traction. Reports suggest that the film was able to earn around Rs 5-6 crore in pre-bookings as of Wednesday. Tiger Zinda Hai had picked up in the range of Rs 10 - 12 crore in advance.

Also, whether the film will go beyond Rs 200 crore depends on the traction the film sees in the first week of its release. After its week-1, Salman's Dabangg 3 will have to compete with Akshay Kumar’s Good Newwz; and after that, January 10 has strong content line-up including Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak, Rajinikanth-starrer Darbar and Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.

“There is a line-up of releases back-to-back which may prove to be a speed breaker for Dabangg 3 at the box office. Good Newwz is also tracking well. Three big films are due to be released on January 10, and this may slow down the film’s (Dabangg 3) pace at the box office," Johar said.

Yet, Johar remains confident about the film, especially because of its star cast.“Salman’s fan base is huge. His kind of cinema is massy and entertaining. It comes under the paisa vasool category and Dabangg 3 is right up his alley. He is the action guy. His films become a family outing. Unlike his previous films, Dabangg 3 is a more solid franchise,” he said.

Johar told Moneycontrol that the third installment of Dabangg features the south biggie Kichcha Sudeep, which will definitely click with the audiences down south. The film has been dubbed in other languages as well. This will making him (Salman)  popular in more areas specifically the south.”

The film has released in four languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada – and in as many as 3,500 screens in all versions.
